Neighborhood cooperation was key to the on-site arrest of three alleged perpetrators
The Civil Guard has arrested three men on the spot as the alleged perpetrators of a burglary in an occupied home during the early hours of October 18, 2025, in Vecindario , a municipality in Las Palmas. The swift police action was made possible thanks to the cooperation of local residents, after the Control Center received a report of forced entry. Upon arriving at the scene, officers surprised the individuals inside the home and confirmed, according to neighbors, that they had violently forced entry by kicking down the front door.
The incident is particularly significant because the robbery occurred in a house inhabited by an elderly woman in her eighties, considered a vulnerable individual. Following police intervention, the victim was treated by paramedics and taken to the Insular Hospital for medical evaluation. Inside the property, clear signs of disarray and a deliberate search for valuables were found. Officers recovered several mobile phones and prevented the theft of two electric scooters.
The detainees were brought before the duty judge at the Court of Instruction in San Bartolomé de Tirajana (Las Palmas). This type of incident highlights the importance of reporting any anomalies or suspicious activity to the State Security Forces by calling 062 (Civil Guard) or 112 (Emergency Services), thus ensuring an effective police response to crimes against property and vulnerable individuals.
