The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has completed two key internal promotion processes that consolidate job security and recognize the career path of its municipal staff. Within the framework of the Strategic Human Resources Plan, approved in April 2024, 22 permanent Administrative Assistant positions and 22 career Administrative positions have been awarded, benefiting workers with more than two decades of service. These measures strengthen the municipality's operational capacity and meet a historic human resources objective.
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council, through the Presidency and Personnel Department, has completed two internal promotion procedures, which represent a significant milestone in the consolidation of the municipal team.
In the context of the Strategic Human Resources Plan, ratified in plenary session on April 25, 2024 after its passage through the General Negotiation Table (May 16, 2023), two files have been developed that reinforce professional stability within the local government:
-
Horizontal internal promotion: 22 Administrative Assistant positions through competitive examination.
- The process began on July 5, 2024.
- Twenty employees applied, and 20 were selected to sign their permanent contracts tomorrow in the Administrative Assistant category.
- This project continues an initiative launched in 2013 to convert existing positions for EDI Educator, EDI Officer, and Cook into Administrative Assistant positions.
-
Vertical internal promotion: 22 vacancies for Administrative Assistants as career civil servants.
- Also convened on July 5, 2024, it now concludes with the effective incorporation of 16 municipal workers, with four more pending inauguration due to justified causes.
- Most have been with the City Council for more than two decades and have previously performed these functions.
With these two promotions, the City Council achieves a dual purpose: providing stability and recognition to municipal staff and, simultaneously, strengthening the operational capacity of the local government.
The councilor responsible for the area and second deputy mayor, Elena Álamo, emphasized the significance of the progress made:
"We are achieving historic goals: consolidating City Hall staff in their respective categories. We will continue to manage human resources, addressing both administrative and people needs."
