In an unexpected turnaround in the management of Mogán's public services, the City Council, headed by Onalia Bueno, has decided to withdraw from the tender for the "Mogán Television, Radio, and Digital Communication Service," a contract valued at €934.452,97. This decision, announced on March 12, 2025, follows an appeal filed by Nueva Canarias-Bloque Canarista (NC-BC), which highlighted several irregularities in the award process. NC questioned the urgency with which the tender was announced on February 28.
The technical report supporting the decision to abandon the procedure indicates that the justification for urgent processing of the case was unfounded. Although Mayor Onalia Bueno had argued the need for a rapid award, the report reveals that the current contract allowed for an additional extension, which eliminates the urgency of the process. Bueno has admitted that an error was identified in the application of the collective agreement for service personnel, which incorrectly referred to the daily press agreement instead of the Third Collective Agreement for the audiovisual production industry.
NC-BC councilors Javier Romero and Juan Manuel Gabella have not hesitated to criticize the management of the Mogán governing group, accusing them of acting in the interests of political parties rather than those of the citizens. Both councilors hope that the mayor will allow all parties, regardless of their ideology, the opportunity to express themselves in the municipality's public media. The situation in Mogán highlights the need for more transparent and participatory management of public services, for the benefit of the entire community.
