The Nueva Canarias (NC) party has formally requested permission from the Mogán governing group to carry out a thorough review of the state and safety of the municipality's sports facilities.
This initiative comes after the publication of several technical reports warning about the deterioration of some key infrastructures, such as the municipal swimming pool and the Arguineguín football field, which has generated concern among athletes and regular users of these spaces.

NC claims that both the referees and the Inter-Island Football Federation of Las Palmas have stated that the pitch is not suitable for playing football. Furthermore, they have warned that they could suspend competitions on that pitch at any time, which has been documented in several minutes of competitions held there.
NC in Mogán has expressed its intention to carry out a detailed analysis of each facility, with the aim of detecting deficiencies and proposing solutions to guarantee the safety of citizens. The nationalist party has pointed out that this inspection does not seek to generate political confrontation, but to provide transparency and promote improvements that benefit the sports community of the municipality.
Meanwhile, in 2024, the Director General of Physical Activity and Sport of the Government of the Canary Islands, José Francisco Pérez, announced the support of the regional government for the project of the future sports pavilion in Arguineguín, an infrastructure that the City Council seeks to finance.
This facility, with a useful surface area of 5.918,75 square metres, is planned on Damasco Street, in the space where the court attached to the IES Arguineguín is currently located. With this project, the municipality hopes to improve its sports offering and respond to the growing demand for quality infrastructure.
