Alejandro Marichal: “With projects of this nature, we are transforming private investment into economic activity, employment, and new opportunities for the municipality.”

Davinia Ramírez: “The project goes beyond the construction of new facilities, because it also improves accessibility and organizes internal circulation between the different spaces of the complex.”

The Urban Planning Department of the San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has promoted the development of a new industrial, commercial, and service area in Ayagaures, with a private investment of €2,8 million and the expectation of creating new jobs in the municipality. The project is located near the GC-503 highway, in the direction of Montaña La Data, on a site whose permit application had been pending for years and which has received renewed impetus during the current term to enable the granting of licenses and the start of construction.

The project includes the construction of an industrial building of approximately 1.200 square meters , located on a plot of about 6.000 square meters, which will expand the availability of space for industrial activity in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. This facility will be complemented by a vehicle wash area of around 800 square meters and a service station for fuel and electric vehicle charging.

The project also includes a supermarket of approximately 289 square meters , located on a plot with a parking area of roughly 2.000 square meters, as well as a parking area for vehicles of approximately 4.000 square meters , with facilities of around 280 square meters intended to provide complementary services. The project will also allow for the opening of the El Pozo restaurant , scheduled for the coming months.

The project covers an area of approximately 14.699 square meters and also includes improvements to accessibility. These improvements include the creation of a new roundabout providing access from the GC-503 and an internal road that will allow traffic to be distributed among the different facilities and uses planned for the complex.

The project has a declaration of public and social interest , a circumstance that has allowed progress in the implementation of the planned activities and in the recovery of a space that remained pending development.

The First Deputy Mayor of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Alejandro Marichal , emphasizes that this action reflects the importance of unblocking projects that had been stalled for years. “When we manage to move forward with projects of this nature, we are transforming private investment into economic activity, employment, and new opportunities for the municipality,” he points out.

Marichal also emphasizes the need to continue diversifying the local economy. “San Bartolomé de Tirajana has enormous tourism potential, but we must also facilitate the establishment of industrial, commercial, and service activities that generate jobs beyond the traditional ones,” he states. In this regard, he adds that “streamlining permits and providing security for investments that comply with regulations is also a way to boost the economy and expand employment opportunities for our residents.”

For her part, Davinia Ramírez emphasizes that the project will allow them to “revitalize an area that has been awaiting development for years and give it a new purpose by incorporating different economic and service activities.” Ramírez explains that “the project goes beyond the construction of new facilities, because it also improves accessibility and organizes internal circulation between the different spaces of the complex.”

The municipal official also points out that "the work of Urban Planning is fundamental so that projects that comply with regulations can be developed and become real investment, job creation and improvement of the environment."

The project will thus allow the renewal of this enclave in the Ayagaures ravine through a combination of industrial activity, commerce, vehicle-related services and restaurants , while improving accessibility and expanding opportunities for economic activity in the municipality.
