The poor results of Canarian Hospitality: 48 million and talks of reaching 100 million before 2029

No one is celebrating unless they're seeking liquidity or looking to sell part of the group to a financial partner. The hotel management company Canarian Hospitality is consolidating its expansion strategy after closing a fiscal year with a turnover of 48 million euros, operating in a tourism segment traditionally characterized by very narrow margins. Backed primarily by the construction group Acosta Matos, the company currently manages nine properties in the Canary Islands and plans to double its operational size within the next three years.

To give you an idea, Cordial Canarias Hotels & Resorts, SL has closed a record-breaking fiscal year: total combined revenue exceeding €88,4 million and zero debt. Gloria Hotels doesn't mention it, but its revenue is around €91 million.

The Canarian Hospitality strategic plan involves controlling 15 hotel establishments and increasing the combined supply to 2.400 rooms by 2028. This growth should boost overall revenue to over 100 million euros, simultaneously tripling gross operating profit (EBITDA) through resource optimization and the application of economies of scale in daily management.

The weight of southern Gran Canaria and the peninsular projection

A key pillar of the strategy is concentrated in southern Gran Canaria, where the management company operates one of its flagship properties: the repurposed Sholeo Lodges in Maspalomas. This 168-room establishment, formerly budget-friendly holiday apartments, caters to a younger clientele. This brand is complemented by another property in Tenerife and two accommodations in Las Palmas, reinforcing the company's strong presence on the islands.

At the same time, the management company is promoting its Mynd brand, aimed at a four-star segment that forgoes the traditional all-inclusive model by offering a flexible food credit system, and is expanding its strategic alliance with Radisson. This agreement anticipates the addition of at least 250 rooms annually for fifteen years to facilitate the company's commercial expansion into the Iberian Peninsula and the Atlantic coast.
