Castillo del Romeral was once again filled with music , color and a festive atmosphere with the celebration of its traditional pilgrimage , a day that brought together neighbors , families , carts and revelers around one of the most beloved events of the town.
From early afternoon, the streets filled with pilgrims dressed in traditional clothing , families sharing food, groups of friends, and neighbors who came out to enjoy the passing of the carts and the Canarian music. Dances, songs, and local produce accompanied a celebration marked by community spirit and the desire to share the customs that form part of the identity of Castillo del Romeral.
The pilgrimage began at 18:30 p.m. from Hermanos Pinzón Street , near the Vicente del Bosque Sports City , and traveled through different streets of the town until reaching the church, where the traditional offering took place.
Throughout the journey, the festive music provided the soundtrack to an afternoon in which locals and visitors danced and sang to the rhythm of popular Canarian music, while the decorated carts advanced and turned the route into a great meeting place between generations.
One of the highlights of this year's event was the increased number of participating carts and groups, reflecting a celebration that continues to grow thanks to the involvement of local residents and community organizations. After the offering, the carts made their way to the designated area next to the futsal court, located below the Vicente del Bosque Sports Complex, where they were parked and the festivities continued with the traditional barbecues at each cart.

The gathering continued after the procession with music, food, and encounters between neighbors, reinforcing the popular character of a pilgrimage that once again became a celebration shared by the entire town.
The Councillor for Festivals and Events, Yilenia Vega , highlighted the enormous participation and the lively atmosphere throughout the day . "Every year we see more residents wanting to take part in the pilgrimage, and this year that growth has been reflected in both the number of carts and musical groups. This demonstrates the enthusiasm with which Castillo del Romeral celebrates its festivities and the commitment of its residents to keeping them alive ," she noted.
Vega also praised the work done by those directly involved in organizing and preparing the pilgrimage. Behind every cart, every group of revelers, and every detail are countless hours of work and many families involved. This participation is what fills the streets with joy and allows the pilgrimage to continue growing year after year , he stated.
For his part, Alejandro Marichal emphasized the importance of local festivals continuing to be a space for transmitting traditions. " Celebrating our customs is a way of recognizing ourselves as a people, of remembering where we come from, and of ensuring that younger generations learn about and embrace these traditions ," he stated.
Marichal also pointed out that seeing the streets full of families, people dancing to the rhythm of the festivities, and neighbors sharing around the carts demonstrates that traditions remain alive when there is a community willing to care for them and enjoy them together.
