The project, promoted by Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez Sánchez, has a cost of 127.500 euros and will be carried out in six important areas of the neighborhood and tourist sector.
The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council began this Monday in the vicinity of the Maspalomas Golf Course , in El Campo Internacional , the foundation work necessary for the installation of the first taxi stand shelter that will be enabled in that tourist area.
This action on Touroperador Neckerman Avenue is part of the provision plan for shade canopies that the Department of Urban Mobility and Transport , directed by José Carlos Álamo Ojeda , will develop over the next four months at six important stops of the public transport service.
In that sense, the project, strongly encouraged by Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez, also initially plans to install these new canopies at the Maspalomas Lighthouse , Annex II of Playa del Inglés , near the Roca Clinic in San Agustín , the Bellavista Shopping Centre and the Municipal Market.
The installation of these bus shelters will cost €127.500 . The works, awarded to Monpex Inoxylum SL , will be carried out gradually over the coming months to provide taxi users in the tourist area with shaded areas of 4,30 linear meters.
Transparent aesthetics
The selected canopies are anchored to the ground with concrete footings and offer a modern, transparent, and lightweight aesthetic. They are constructed of solar control glass with a solid, smoked polycarbonate skylight to block solar radiation.
Furthermore, the facilities will be clearly identified with the logos of the municipal coat of arms and the tourist destination. They will include a metal bench made of stainless steel with wood and marine-grade aluminum accents, and will feature a steel and glass advertising panel, illuminated at night, for municipal information.
