The San Bartolomé de Tirajana City Council has finalized its 2026 municipal budget of €238,7 million following the approval of two budget amendments in the plenary session. This amount precisely balances income and expenditure, reflecting the financial strength of the main tourist region in southern Gran Canaria under the leadership of Mayor Marco Aurelio Pérez.

In terms of financial obligations, capital investments account for the largest share at €86,9 million, establishing themselves as the cornerstone of the municipality's development. This investment effort is complemented by current assets and services at €74,9 million, personnel expenses at €42,6 million, capital transfers at €24,7 million, and current transfers at €6,9 million. The financial section is completed with €2,3 million in financial expenses, €150.000 in financial assets, and €50.000 allocated to the contingency and unforeseen expenses fund.

On the financial side, the financing of the €238,7 million relies primarily on the use of accumulated surpluses. Financial assets contribute €110.403.259,15 to the revenue statement, constituting the largest source of income for the entire fiscal year.

The breakdown of taxes and transfers is completed with €44.749.530,94 from current transfers, €36.645.315 collected through direct taxes on the economic capacity of residents and property owners, and €27.046.849 in capital transfers to co-finance projects. Additionally, revenue from fees and other income contributes €12,8 million, property income totals €4,9 million, and indirect taxes complete the picture with €2,05 million.

With this budget allocation, the municipal executive of San Bartolomé de Tirajana seeks to consolidate its spending and strategic investment execution at a key moment in the legislature, ensuring the necessary liquidity to face the socio-economic pulse of the island's south in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
