National Police officers have arrested two men, aged 48 and 25, as alleged perpetrators of a drug trafficking offense, after dismantling a drug sales point that allegedly operated under the guise of a center dedicated to therapies and massages in the south of Gran Canaria.
The investigation was carried out over approximately three months by the Narcotics Group of the Maspalomas Police Station, after officers detected evidence of possible distribution activity of different drugs, especially synthetic substances linked to contexts of sexualized consumption known as chemsex.
Throughout the investigation, officers carried out various operations that led to the seizure of narcotics from seven buyers, reinforcing evidence of an active distribution point. The substances seized during this phase included GHB, mephedrone, cocaine, and various crystalline substances.
The investigation determined that the establishment under investigation was publicly advertised as a center dedicated to Ayurvedic therapies and tantric massages, although the investigations indicated that this activity was allegedly being used as a cover for the distribution of narcotic substances.
Based on the evidence obtained, investigators requested a court order to search both the business and a residence linked to the main suspect. The search warrant was granted and executed simultaneously at both properties on the morning of August 14, with the assistance of the National Police's Special Operations Security Group (GOES).
During the operation, the two suspects were arrested. One of them was found in the house that was searched, while the second was located inside the establishment.
Numerous drugs prepared for distribution
During the searches, officers located over 300 grams of a crystalline substance awaiting analysis, as well as approximately 66,5 grams of another rock-like substance, 70 milliliters of GHB, cocaine, mephedrone, hashish, and tablets suspected to be ecstasy, in addition to numerous medications and 24 bottles of a substance marketed as poppers. The substances have been sent to the Health Department for definitive analysis of their composition, weight, and purity.
Five precision scales, numerous bags and containers allegedly used for measuring and packaging the substances, mobile phones, documents, and €410 in cash were also seized. Investigators also found notes with names and quantities expressed in grams and milliliters.
Some of the seized substances were already divided or prepared for distribution, exhibiting characteristics consistent with those previously detected by investigators during the operation.
According to the provisional police assessment included in the report, the substances susceptible to economic valuation seized in the home and the establishment would reach an approximate value of 24.600 euros on the illicit market, to which are added the substances previously seized from buyers during the course of the investigation.
The two detainees were placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
