The minor was rescued from the sea at Anfi del Mar beach, in Mogán, and assisted by the Canary Islands Emergency Service before being evacuated by medical helicopter to the University Maternal and Child Hospital of the Canary Islands.
A 12-year-old girl was seriously injured and taken to the hospital after nearly drowning at Anfi del Mar beach in Mogán on Friday afternoon, August 14. The incident prompted a large emergency response and required a medical helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to be deployed to the beach.
The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 received the alert at 13:23 p.m. , after the minor was rescued from the sea showing signs of drowning. From the operations center, the necessary resources were activated, and arrangements were made to locate a landing site for the medical helicopter, which ultimately landed on the same beach. Personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium were mobilized to secure the landing area.
The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) dispatched a medical ambulance , a basic life support ambulance, and a medical helicopter. Upon arrival, medical personnel assessed and treated the girl, who was suffering from near-drowning and was in serious condition. After being stabilized, she was airlifted by the medical helicopter to the helipad of the University Hospital of Gran Canaria and subsequently transferred to the University Maternal and Child Hospital of the Canary Islands.
The operation also involved Mogán Civil Protection , the Local Police , and the Civil Guard . Officers secured the area during the emergency response and handled the corresponding procedures.
