Security remains one of the most highly valued pillars and receives the largest allocation of resources within the policies implemented by the public administration. During the third quarter of 2025, this indicator registered a value of 36,69, representing a slight year-on-year decrease of 1,85%. This downward trend continued more markedly in the fourth quarter of 2025, a period in which security stood at 37,81, with a year-on-year decrease of 22,44%. However, the situation took a positive turn with the start of the new annual cycle.
In the first quarter of 2026, safety rebounded to reach 47,36, experiencing a year-on-year increase of 3,63%. This trend of recovery and consolidation continued in the second quarter of 2026, a period in which the indicator climbed to 51,81, registering a positive year-on-year change of 1,04%, reflecting a sustained commitment to safeguarding the peace of mind of visitors and residents in tourist destinations.
Alongside security, the breakdown of policies implemented by the administration reveals disparate but strategic approaches in key areas for hotels and ancillary services. Support for ancillary services showed dynamic behavior, starting at 33,25 in the third quarter of 2025, with a year-on-year increase of 33,24%, and falling to 19,88 in the fourth quarter of 2025, a decrease of 1,96%.
In 2026, this trend accelerated significantly, reaching 27,65 in the first quarter of 2026, with an 8,03% year-on-year increase, and climbing to 35,59 in the second quarter of 2026, with a 4,84% increase. Meanwhile, taxation, after declines in the second half of 2025—1,39 in the third quarter of 2025 with a 9,61% increase and 1,6 in the fourth quarter of 2025 with a -7,26% decrease—experienced exponential growth in 2026, reaching 26,4 in the first quarter of 2026, with a 31,03% increase, and 23,54 in the second quarter of 2026, with a 7,44% increase.
