A 53-year-old man was injured with burns after a fire broke out in a motorcycle workshop in San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

The victim suffered moderate burns to his arms and legs after a fire broke out in a garage in Lomo Perera and was taken to the Maspalomas hospital.

 

A 53-year-old man was injured this Sunday, August 9 , in a fire at a garage used for motorcycle repairs in the Lomo Perera area , in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

 

The Canary Islands Government's Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES) 112 began receiving alerts at 09:46 a.m. reporting the fire. From the operations center, callers were instructed to move to a safe area, and the necessary emergency resources were immediately activated.

 

Firefighters from San Bartolomé de Tirajana traveled to the scene and, after verifying that the building was unoccupied and had been evacuated, proceeded to extinguish the flames and carry out the subsequent ventilation work of the premises.

 

The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) personnel , who arrived in a basic life support ambulance, assessed and treated the injured man at the scene. He had moderate burns on his upper and lower extremities and was subsequently transported to San Roque Maspalomas University Hospital for further treatment.

 

Civil Protection , National Police , and Local Police officers also participated in the operation . Local Police officers took charge of the investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire.
