A 42-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured this Thursday after falling while riding on the GC-500, at the junction with the GC-1 motorway heading north, within the municipality of Mogán. The severity of his injuries required the deployment of the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) medical helicopter for his urgent transfer to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria.
The accident occurred at approximately 12:47 pm on the access road from the GC-500 to the GC-1 , at kilometer 56 , when the Emergency and Security Coordination Center (CECOES 112) received a report that a motorcyclist had fallen and required urgent medical assistance.
Upon arrival, the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) personnel confirmed that the injured man, 42 years old , had suffered severe multiple injuries . After being stabilized at the scene of the accident, he was airlifted by helicopter to the University Hospital of Gran Canaria , where he was admitted for specialized care.
The operation also involved a basic life support ambulance from the SUC ( Canary Islands Emergency Service ), personnel from the Gran Canaria Emergency Consortium , who secured the accident site, as well as officers from the Civil Guard and the Local Police , who were responsible for directing traffic and carrying out the corresponding procedures. Civil Protection also collaborated in the emergency response.
